Guardian Alert 911

A monitored elderly medical alert device will have a monthly or yearly subscription fee to pay for the live monitoring. A device like the Guardian Alert does not. You only pay for the medical alert system itself and then there are no more fees. This is a good option when price is a consideration. I'm not sure there is any benefit to having a live monitoring system if you are within the home because once you press the button on your medical alert device will dial 911. If someone can point out the benefit of calling a middleman to call 911 for you, I'd like to hear about it in the comment section. I may be missing something very important.

So I decided to look into the elderly medical alert system without monitoring. More specifically, the Guardian Alert 911. To me it seemed sensible and the price was right. It was advertised at $149 with free shipping. It wasn't anything fancy but it sounded like it was all we would need. (Read More on Guardian Alert 911 )

Bark Off on the Ellen Show

Bark Off Anytime Ellen mentions a product, the searches on Google go through the roof. Bark Off is no different. Ellen has poked fun at this silly product but does it work?

BarkOff Bark Control

BarkOff Bark Control is something that is music to my ears. There is nothing more annoying than hearing your neighbor's dog barking all night, and for me there is nothing more embarrassing than having it be my dog's barking that the neighbors are complaining about. But, how can you train your dog not to bark? Is there even such a thing as real bark control? Look, a lot of Dog owners spend a lot of time training a dog not bark but to no avail. In extreme cases they seek out surgery for bark control but that seems very inhumane. You can tell when a dog has had this surgery and their faint little barks are heartbreaking, and still quite annoying. So let's see what BarkOff is all about and if it might work. Outdoor Chair Covers - The Tushee

The Tushee Towel Outdoor Chair Covers

The Tushee is an outdoor chair cover but has got to be the greatest name for an As Seen On TV product ever! When my contacts in the As Seen On TV world told me this was coming out I literally had no idea what this silly product could be. All I know is I loved the name.

To tell you the truth I was pretty disappointed when I found out the the tushee, was an outdoor chair cover. But, like the Snuggie the the tushee towel could be a huge hit simply because of the silly factor.

The product itself is actually pretty useful and we've all been in the position where we could use one of these things. The idea is that it's a protective cover for just about any seat or any situation you may find yourself in. The tushee will protect you, supposedly, from heat, cold, dust and dirt by providing an extremely comfortable buffer between you and the surface you're sitting on.  So in actuality this outdoor chair cover can be an airplane chair cover, a movie theater chair cover or just about any chair cover.

But, before we take a look the product let's watch the hilarious tushee commercial. I really got a kick out of it the first time I saw it and I'm sure you will too.(more Outdoor Chair Covers)

Mighty Fixit Repair Tape

As Seen On TV products always seem to promise a bit more than they can deliver so when I see a new product arrive on the scene, I always wonder if it will really solve my problems. I really needed something that would fix a leaky windshield fluid hose in my car and plug and air mattress leak, but of course I was skeptical.

The advertising for the product Mighty Fixit made it look so great but here is my real experience.

Besides being entertained by the infomercial I had high hopes but very low expectations for the product itself. I'm glad to report that this gadget happens to be great and the product seems to do it all. Well, at least all the stuff if showed on TV. Think of Mighty Fixit is everything that we wish duct tape could be. It's supposed to fix, seal and repair just about anything.

When I say anything, I'm really referring to cracks in hoses, leaks in pipes, torn power cords, etc. Now this product is not tape. It's not even sticky and there is no adhesive. It's some kind of stretchy silicone material that will adhere to itself.

This means that as long as you can wrap it around something a few times and back over itself, you can create a seal. So if you have a crack in your radiator hose, you will wrap the product around the hose a few times which will allow it to trace the shape of the hose, create and air tight and water tight seal, and ultimately fix your problem.

So basically you would use this stuff like tape but it is much more permanent and really works well. But, here's the catch, and it took me a while to discover it.

I still think this is the coolest As Seen On TV gadget in a long time. It's simple and solves problems and comes with an over the top sales pitch. It's perfect for Television But it didn't work on the one thing I really needed it for.

Fixing my Windshield Fluid hose was a breeze but I have a very expensive air mattress and it had a leak in the seam. It was a small slow leak but needing mending non the less. I thought my new miracle tape would be perfect because I had temporarily fixed it with some glue and masking tape. When I cleaned the wound and prepared to seal it with my new stuff, I realized that the trick to it working was that fact it would wrap around and stick to itself.

Well, my mattress is huge and since there is no adhesive it could not wrap around and infuse with itself. My solution needed to be some type of flat seal and I couldn't stop my leak with this miracle of modern science.

So while Mighty Fix It really works for most things you need to keep in mind that have to wrap it around itself a few times. This is why you'll notice tubes, hoses and small branches in the ad and it works brilliantly for those type of things.

Read more about the Mighty Fixit or watch the Mighty Fixit Commercial so you can get a better idea about this product.

Laptop Pads

The Notebook Buffer Laptop Pads

Now the Notebook Buffer Laptop pads struck me as a rather cool as seen on TV item when I first saw it because it followed the tradition of a being something that solved a specific problem and was pitched to us in a ridiculous way. Which means I loved it.

I hadn't had a lot of experience with cooling laptop pads and I certainly didn't know if this would be the best notebook cooling pad but it certainly looked intriguing. Being an As Seen On TV junkie, of course I bought one because even if it wasn't that great, I could still use one.

I've only been using laptops for a couple of years and the heat build up after use is really noticeable but I never saw it as much of a problem until recently. I have a desk at work and when I leave for the day there's a nice warm spot where my laptop was but it hasn't been an issue.

Yudu Price

The Yudu Personal Screen Printing Machine is a really popular item these days, but no matter how many Yudu commercials I see, I never really see the price. In fact, I've searched yudu reviews, watched sales videos and scoured blog comments to try and find out how much the yudu screen printing system costs but always come up blank.

So, in this post I'm gonna figure out the Yudu cost once and for all. (I think).  I've seen places offering at different prices but the best I can tell is this.  The Yudu Screen Printing Machine will ultimately cost $400. Here's how.

If you want to order the Yudu, you get the 30 Day In Home Trial for $33.00 + $24.99 S &H. That's $57.99 to try it out for 30 days. You can return it if you want to and I suggest that if you don't love the Yudu after a week or two, send it back. You are either gonna like it or not. People seem to have strong opinions both ways so test it out and make your mind up fast.

If you send it back you don't have to pay anything else, but if you choose to keep it you will pay 6 payments of $57.00 so the whole kit and kaboodle costs $399.99.   My advice is to watch the Yudu tutorials and get a good idea if this is the right product for you. There are many hacks and adjustments being made to the Yudu which are posted all over the place so be sure to look at those as well.
